Why Study Mathematics?

You might be wondering… "When will I ever use this?"

The truth is — math is everywhere.

📱When TikTok or Netflix recommends videos, it uses math + AI to predict what you like.
🛍️When you compare discounts or manage money, you're using math.
Even sports teams use statistics to improve performance.
🤖AI & Machine Learning

Behind every AI system is mathematics. It uses data, patterns, and probability to learn and make decisions. So learning math helps you:

👉 Math isn't just about answers — it's about thinking in a world powered by AI.

Subject Introduction

Mathematics is a core subject that equips students with essential knowledge and skills for further studies, careers, and daily life. In alignment with the curriculum framework of the Hong Kong Education Bureau, students develop competencies in Number and Algebra, Measures, Shape and Space, and Data Handling.

Throughout junior and senior forms, students learn to build strong numeracy, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities. They explore mathematical concepts such as equations, geometry, statistics, and functions, and apply them in real-life contexts including finance, technology, and science.

Our teaching approach emphasises conceptual understanding, inquiry, and application. Students are encouraged to ask questions, explain their thinking, and engage in collaborative learning activities. The integration of e-learning tools and STEAM elements enhances students' ability to apply mathematics across disciplines and in modern contexts. To further enrich learning, we provide extension programmes such as mathematical modelling tasks, competitions, and problem-solving workshops. These experiences nurture students' creativity, resilience, and appreciation of the beauty and usefulness of mathematics.
