★ Physical Education (DSE) is a Senior Secondary elective offered in F.4–6, leading to the HKDSE examination.
Subject Overview
The HKDSE Physical Education curriculum aims to develop students' knowledge and skills in physical activity, healthy living, and sports science. It consists of both theoretical and practical components: theory topics include exercise physiology, sports psychology, socio-cultural issues, health and fitness, skill analysis, and sports management; the practical component assesses students on their performance in selected sports, physical fitness, and their participation and reflection in physical activities. Physical Education is not only an examination subject but also a pathway to holistic development, nurturing students' physical well-being, social interaction, and self-management.
